The proposal concerns the construction of a new five-story residential building with an attic and basement in Nea Chalkidona, which is currently under construction. A key challenge in the design process was addressing the requirements of the building program, as well as the varying typologies and sizes of the apartments. The absence of a standard apartment layout repeated across all levels resulted in a unique floor plan for each story. The varied layouts of the apartments, combined with bay windows and balconies, create a “play” of volumes that project or recess, evoking a composition of successive “boxes.” This volumetric interplay serves as the unifying element of the design. The colour palette enhances this concept, with soft pastel tones—terracotta, ochre, and bluish grey—set against a white background to emphasize the depth and layering of the building’s forms.
